About GLOBAL TERMINAL

Operational Information's

  • It can serve vessels with a maximum draught of 16.5 m, a displacement of 230,000 tonnes and a length of 287 m.
  • It can simultaneously serve white product, black product and bulk carriers at six different berthing platforms.
  • It can load products at a rate of 5,000 m³/hour.
  • It can also provide accommodation services to other vessels for maintenance, repair, and crew change requests.
  • Dangerous cargoes at the facility are handled as liquid bulk and stored separately. As eachincoming vessel carries only one type of dangerous cargo, no separation is required.
  • Dangerous cargoes on vessels arriving at and departing from the Global Terminal Jetty are transported via pipeline with each substance having its own dedicated pipeline.
  • Pipelines are referred to as white and black products.
  • The port side of the quay is the SOUTH side. The right side of the quay is designed for white goods and is where ships can berth alongside the quay.
  • Vessels must arrive with CLEAN BALLAST.
  • Vessels flying the flag of/owned by/operated by the Greek Cypriot Administration shall not be permitted to berth at the port.
  • River-type vessels cannot be accepted for berthing for technical reasons.
  • A vessel shall only be accepted at a berthing location if it is technically suitable in all respects.
  • The maximum speed at which vessels may approach the quay is 0.10 metres per second.

Pilotage

Pilotage is compulsory. Vessels must provide at least 11 (eleven) ropes of suitable length to berth. It is equipped with a VHF radio. Channel 09 is monitored throughout the operation.

Tug

Tugboat is compulsory provided by UZMAR.

Restrictions

If the wind speed exceeds 20 knots, berthing manoeuvres shall not be performed. If the wind speed is around 25 knots, loading/unloading operations will be suspended. If the wind speed is around 30 knots, the connection of the filling arm or cargo hoses will be disconnected. If the wind speeds above 30 knots, ships will be required to anchor offshore and the Terminal will be closed.
