TTK

Operated by Türkiye Taşkömürü Kurumu (TTK), Zonguldak Port is a multifunctional coastal terminal on Turkey’s Black Sea coast. The port delivers 24/7 services with pilotage, towage, mooring and shifting handled by TTK, and navigation support via the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.

Zonguldak Port features multiple docking facilities: one Ro-Ro berth capable of accommodating three Ro-Ro vessels simultaneously, two general cargo & bulk berths, and one train ferry berth. The port’s quay system spans a total of about 1,050 meters across its piers. Berth depths are in the 6.0 to 7.5 meter range, defining the draft limitations for vessels calling at the port.

Handling equipment includes electric quay cranes (5 t, 15 t), mobile cranes with capacities of 10–15 tons, along with various forklifts and machinery operated by concessionaire firms. The port also supports rail connectivity, with one quay dedicated to heavy load transfer and having direct rail access.

Protected by two breakwaters totaling around 1,100 meters, Zonguldak Port provides safe anchorage in nearby waters with depths reaching about 13 fathoms (≈ 24 m) over sand and mud seabed. As a historically coal-centric port, its primary operations remain focused on coal shipments, but the terminal is open to public and private cargo usage under TTK’s management.
