KUMPORT

KUMPORT is a major commercial port located on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul, serving as a critical hub for containerized, general, and bulk cargo. The port features a total quay length of approximately 1,200 meters across multiple berths, accommodating vessels with a maximum draft of 14.5 meters and a length of up to 300 meters. It can handle vessels with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of up to 100,000.

The terminal is equipped with modern container-handling infrastructure, including six ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes with an outreach of 18 containers and a lifting capacity of up to 65 tons. Yard operations are supported by 18 rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs) and a fleet of reach stackers and empty container handlers. Bulk and general cargo operations are facilitated by grab cranes and conveyor systems with a handling capacity of up to 800 tons per hour.

Storage facilities include 60,000 m² of covered warehouse space and 400,000 m² of open storage area, including a container yard with a capacity of 20,000 TEUs. The port operates 24/7 and has an annual handling capacity of over 1.5 million TEUs and 10 million tons of general and bulk cargo.

Key features include direct connectivity to the O-3 and O-4 highways, an on-dock railway terminal with four tracks enabling intermodal transport, and 500 reefer plugs for temperature-sensitive containers. The port is fully compliant with international security and safety standards (ISPS, ISO 45001), with advanced surveillance systems, automated gate operations, and environmental protection measures in place.
