HAYDARPASA PORT

The Port of Haydarpaşa, situated on Istanbul’s Asian side in Kadıköy, is a historic and multi-purpose maritime facility operated by Turkish State Railways (TCDD). It handles general cargo, containers, and Ro-Ro operations, and is uniquely connected to the rail network via Haydarpaşa Train Station.

The port boasts a total quay length of approximately 3,413 meters, with berth depths ranging from –5 m to –12 m, accommodating vessels of varying sizes. It houses 21 berths across two piers, including specialized berths for general cargo, dry bulk, container handling, and Ro-Ro traffic. The facility is equipped with one floating crane with 250-ton capacity, multiple yard and quay cranes (3 to 35 tons), mobile cranes, forklifts, tugs, and mooring boats.

Operating within a land area that includes container terminal space (55,000 m²) and dry bulk installations, the port also serves as a rail ferry junction, facilitating transfer of rail cars across the Bosphorus. With its strategic location at the southern entrance to the Bosphorus and integration with rail and maritime networks, Haydarpaşa remains a vital gateway between Istanbul’s industrial zones and international shipping routes.

Pilotage is compulsory for mooring and unmooring and provided by COSTAL SAFETY.
