Pilotage

It is compulsory for ships entering and leaving the port of PETKIM. It is provided by the PETKIM PILOT VHF channel 12–16.
Pilotage and towage services at our port are provided by the Maritime Services Directorate. Operating at full capacity with 7 pilot captains, 8 mooring personnel, 6 tugs, 3 mooring boats and 1 pilot boat, our organisation has been providing services in Nemrut Bay as well as İzmir and Aliağa since February 2015.

Berthing Restrictions

When weather conditions outside the port exceed 5 Beaufort (17–21 knots), the pilot has the option to manoeuvre in or out of the port.
When weather conditions reach 25 knots for vessels berthed in the port, transfers are halted; at 28 knots, the cargo arm/hose is removed.
At 30 knots, depending on the safety situation, the pilot may opt to move the vesselout to sea.
