About TDI DIKILI PORT

Anchorage Areas

A large area where ships can anchor, 300 m outside the old harbour breakwater in the outer harbour. Ships bound for Izmir or in transit cannot perform anchored cargo operations unless they are carrying red-labelled cargo. Two main anchorages have been defined.

(1) Aircraft carrier anchoring at approximately 105 feet depth west of Yenikale.
(2) Mid-port anchoring at 46 to 52.5 feet depth off the old harbour breakwater.

Pilotage

It is compulsory for ships entering and leaving the port of Dikili. It is provided by the Turkish Maritime Authority (TDI). VHF channel 16, 12.

It is compulsory for ships entering and leaving the port of Dikili

Passenger Facilities

There are terminals and piers serving passenger traffic.

Cargo Handling Facilities

General cargo, ore, coal and vegetable oil. There are also facilities for passenger ships. Loading/unloading rates: 400-500 tonnes for general cargo, 500-750 tonnes for ore, 400-750 tonnes for coal.

Restrictions

Ships are not allowed to berth at the old port at night, but they can leave the port at any time. There are no restrictions on berthing/mooring at the port Depth at the port entrance and shelter area: 4–5 m. Therefore, there are restrictions for large draught vessels. The shelter area in the port is limited (capacity for approximately 6–7 small boats). The port has the capacity to accommodate three passenger ships at the same time. The maximum length of ships that can dock at the port is ~160 m LOA, and the maximum draft is ~8 m.
