Risk Management Protocols

1. Traffic Suspension Due to Risk Conditions

Strong currents
Low visibility
One-way traffic implementation
Sensor readings in the Turkish Straits
Meteorological data
Reports from pilot captains
Data from vessels navigating the region

2. Actions for Vessels Classified as “At Risk”

The relevant TBGTH Center may direct vessels at risk to comply with alternate routing, timing adjustments, or mandatory escort services.

3. Entry Permission Under Limited Services

If pilotage and/or tugboat services cannot be provided, entry may still be permitted up to a safe point, provided they comply with TBGTH instructions.
